George is an IBJJF - certified Black Belt instructor with more than 18 years of dedication to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and a lifelong background in grappling arts. Before beginning his BJJ journey, George was a high school wrestler and studied Judo, experiences that helped shape his technical foundation and passion for the martial arts.

In addition to his martial arts experience, George recently retired after a distinguished 25-year career in law enforcement, serving in a wide range of assignments including neighborhood patrol, SWAT, and undercover operations. As a DCJS-certified law enforcement instructor, he helped introduce Brazilian Jiu Jitsu into law enforcement training programs in the Capitol Region, bringing the principles of leverage, control, and practical application to officers serving their communities.

George's approach to teaching is rooted in the belief that Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is far more than a martial art or self-defense system - it is a path to personal growth. While BJJ develops confidence and real-world self-defense skills, it also builds discipline, resilience, humility, fitness, and lifelong friendships. The academy environment becomes more than a place to train; it becomes a community where students support one another and grow on and off the mats.

Whether working with beginners stepping onto the mats for the first time, law enforcement professionals, competitors, or experienced practitioners refining their skills, George is committed to creating a welcoming environment where every student can learn, progress, and thrive.
