Gene is a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Coach Douglas Esposito. He has a background in martial arts, having studied Shotokan Karate in his younger years. Gene currently works as a local law enforcement officer and is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. As a full-time law enforcement defensive tactics instructor, Gene has received multiple certifications including Krav Maga, Gracie Survival Tactics Level I and II, and most recently EFCombatives. 

As a BJJ instructor, Gene focuses on teaching proper technique while challenging and encouraging his students physically and mentally in a safe training environment. He has successfully coached adults of all levels, including members of local and federal law enforcement as well as members of the Armed Forces. Gene's passion is helping people improve their skills, confidence, and wellbeing through the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
